The Worker's President, fighting for you at the finest resorts of Hawaii
For the second presidential election in a row, West Side Congressman Dennis Kucinich is conceding the Iowa Democratic primary. The New York Times reports that
Kucinich is telling supporters to back Barack Obama if he doesn’t have enough votes in Thursday’s caucuses.
That Denny will get crushed in Iowa goes without saying. What’s interesting is that the self-anointed “workers’ president” didn’t bother to campaign in a state chock-full-o working people.
Though Kucinich has campaigned heavily in Hawaii and California coastal enclaves – places surely loaded with UAW members -- he wasn’t invited to a December debate in Des Moines, since rules precluded candidates who hadn’t made any effort to win in the state.
It appears Kucinich and the lovely missus weren’t about to spoil their taxpayer-paid vacation – your bill in: $2.9 million – tromping corn fields and savoring resplendent evenings at the Mason City Motor Lodge. But be assured that the cabana boy at Maui’s Aloha Grand Wailea Beach Villas has been fully briefed on the congressman’s NAFTA position.
