7/10-12: Cain Park Arts Festival

In the essay he wrote for her book Open Spaces, author/speechwriter John P. Avalon describes Cathie Bleck’s scratchboard art: “There is a timeless quality to her work: It is the magical realism of myth, a loving look at nature. These are the stories of animal spirits and striving young souls struggling to find their way through the dark guided by instinct, newly engaged in a world familiar yet strange.” Your last chance to see her exhibit Scratch is this weekend at the Cain Park Arts Festival. There are also 150 exhibitors of art and fine craft, plus music by Crookneck Chandler and the Tibbee Bottom Boys, the Lenny Russo Band, Lost State of Franklin, Grammy winner Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, Cats on Holiday and Prairie Orchid.
