With the Rock Hall Inductions taking place in mid-April, the folks at the Rock Hall have been scrambling to finish renovations, so the place looks especially spiffy in time for the event.

Earlier today, the Rock Hall announced that the new Hall of Fame, an entire floor dedicated to the Inductees, will open on April 7, a day that features free admission to the museum. Part of the Rock Hall’s multi-year, multi-million-dollar transformation that included the opening of the Power of Rock Experience in the Connor Theatre this past summer, the new Hall of Fame “completely reimagines how inductees are presented in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

There will be "dramatic new displays, floor-to-ceiling video screens and interactive presentations of fan-favorite inductee moments" in addition to an artist signature wall, directional audio, a real-time LED news ticker and a dedication to Inductees who have passed away. The new floor will also feature the 2018 Inductee exhibit.

Shine a Light: New Acquisitions and Spotlight Artifacts, a new exhibit occupying the space previously held by the Inductee exhibit area in the Ahmet Ertegun main exhibition hall, will open on March 16.

Some of the first items on display in that exhibit include a Jerry Lee Lewis piano, a P!nk outfit, drumheads from Tré Cool and a guitar donated by Chicago's Robert Lamm of Chicago. According to a press release, the space will be updated frequently to highlight "touring artists, national holidays, important dates in music history and inductee birthdays."
