The Other Paper in Columbus notes the lazy use of stock photos in Ohio politics:
Despite the fact that TruthPAC had claimed him so prominently, campaigners for OhioACT, a coalition opposing Issue 2, apparently could not resist the white-bearded, blue-collar charm in a stock image of a construction worker when they put him on their start page late last month.Boone Rodriguez, a Portland-area photographer who shot the image, wasn’t surprised to hear that it’s all the rage in two separate campaigns in Ohio.
Royalty-free stock images of his construction worker are commonly picked up by campaigns all over the globe, he said, and his models inadvertently become the face of opposition or support for issues they’ve never heard about.
