Cindy Wilson/Easter Island/Womantra
The B-52s singer Cindy Wilson brings her tour in support of her new solo album, Change, to town tonight. The disc comes on the heels of the singer’s fortieth anniversary in the biz. Atmospheric album opener “People Are Asking” suggests David Bowie and sets the tone for the album, which features downtempo ballads such as "Sunrise" and "Memory." It's a real departure from the B-52s' giddy New Wave/punk. but Wilson and her band should make the songs sparkle when they play 'em live. (Jeff Niesel) 8 p.m., $20-$35. The Winchester.
Of Montreal/Mega Bog
For Of Montreal’s latest effort, White is Relic/Irrealis Mood, band leader Kevin Barnes took inspiration from the extended dance mixes that pop music artists released in the '80s. The themes about identity found in works by James Baldwin, Angela Davis and Kathy Acker inspired the lyrical content. As a result, the songs are both danceable and thought-provoking. They'll undoubtedly complement the tunes in the band's extensive catalog. (Jeff Niesel) 8:30 p.m., $18 ADV, $20 DOS. Beachland Ballroom.
Return Of Simple/ Extra Medium Pony/Kitschy/Extra Medium Pony/Kitschy/Hannah Stak
After forming in 2003, the local indie pop band Return of Simple, a "guitar-less trio of classically trained musicians" named after a Langston Hughes novel, released a couple of records and became a fixture on the local scene before splitting up a few years ago. The group eventually relocated to New York in 2009. A few years ago, after getting "burned out" in New York, Kovacs moved back to Cleveland and started a new band, Math & Logic, which lasted about six months. " He decided to go back to a trio and bring back the Return of Simple name. The group will reunite for the first time in seven years to play tonight’s show at the Grog Shop. Dan Auerbach & the Easy Eye Sound Revue/Shannon and the Clams
Shortly after he moved from Akron to Nashville a few years back, Black Keys singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach started recording the Black Keys and other acts at his Easy Eye Sound studio. With the release of his latest solo album, Waiting on a Song, he also launched his own imprint, also dubbed Easy Eye. Last year, Auerbach released a 7-inch sampler, Good Sound Comes Back Around Vol. 1, on Record Store Day. It also features “Cellophane Angel,” an exclusive and unreleased track that Auerbach recorded with the Preservation Hall Band and Robert Finley's "Medicine Woman,” the first single from the blues singer-guitarist's album, Goin’ Platinum! Dubbed the Easy Eye Sound Revue Tour, tonight's show features Robert Finley and Shannon Shaw with special guests Shannon & the Clams. (Niesel), 7 p.m., $34.50. The Agora Theatre.
Justin Timberlake/The Shadowboxers
When Justin Timberlake performed at the Q in 2013, he put on his pop star shoes and performed for well over two-and-a-half hours in front of an ecstatic, party-ready crowd. Timberlake opened the show with the falsetto-heavy gospel-tinged R&B number “Pusher Love Girl.” Wisely, however, he very soon enlisted a bevy of backup dancers (and busted out some lithe moves of his own) for a string of fan-favorites, including “Rock Your Body,” “My Love,” “Like I Love You” and highlight “FutureSex/LoveSound.” Expect him to play some of those tunes along with tracks from his latest effort, Man of the Woods. Brave Combo
A regular at the Beachland, Brave Combo, a sharp Tex-Mex/polka band out of Texas, even released a couple of its albums on the now defunct locally based Cleveland International Records. The band comes to town tonight at it makes its way to perform at a Dyngus Day celebration in Buffalo. Consider the concert a good warm-up for Cleveland's Dyngus Day celebration, which takes place tomorrow. (Niesel), 7 p.m., $18 ADV, $20 DOS. Beachland Ballroom.
