The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) work in tandem to determine exactly what drivers are allowed to put on specialty license plates, aka vanity plates. And every year, hundreds of drivers, trying to see just how clever their combination of letters and numbers can be, are ultimately denied.
According to the official guidelines set up by the BMV and ACLU, personalized plates may not contain profane words or phrases, anything with a sexual connotation, references to words or phrases related to poop, hateful or discriminatory words or phrases, words that encourage breaking the law, or combinations of Xs and Ks, as they are difficult to read.
The entire list of rejected plates is available at the bottom of this article, but we've set aside 25 absolute gems for easy viewing.
