The depth of winter is a great time for a ghost story to while away the long, dark hours indoors. And no one around here can supply them better than Sonya Hartman, a.k.a. Psychic Sonya, who is renowned for her Halloween-season Haunted Cleveland tours and her ability to communicate with the world beyond the visible world. The meeting room at the Cuyahoga County Library’s Parma-Snow Road branch (2121 Snow Rd., 216.661.4240) may not possess the spooky atmosphere of a gathering around a fireplace in a dark cabin in the woods, but Sonya will surely conjure up an eerie aura in her lecture “The Secrets of Spirits, Ghosts and the Paranormal” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. She’ll talk about some of her techniques for tracking down these elusive forces and promises, if time permits, to do some psychic readings too. You must be 13 or older to attend. The program is free, but you should call the library or go to the website to make a reservation. — Anastasia Pantsios
