Finding reasonably-priced, curated vintage fashion in one place just got a whole lot easier, since the recently-launched Vintage Fashion Pop-Up came to Lakewood.

One weekend a month, four to five vintage fashion sellers set up a collective shop at Shop the Trader in Lakewood. Heather Sapanos, founder of Vintage Fashion Pop-Up tells Scene she's excited to be a part of the community of great independent shops in Lakewood. Thanks to the advent of Instagram, people are craving unique fashion more than ever before, but finding those items can be difficult.

"We're offering shoppers another medium to shop where they can take their time, touch the items and try them on in an enjoyable, modern shopping environment," Sapanos says.

The selection at Vintage Pop-Up is of the highest caliber, Sapanos says. Her own Etsy shop, Only The Best, has garnered the attention of top designers like Marc Jacobs, Cole Haan, Eugenia Kim and Zimmermann, who've all purchased vintage pieces from her. Sapanos says that Sarah Jessica Parker has even worn a couple of her vintage dresses on the HBO show Divorce.

For the time being, Sapanos selections remain an Etsy shop and the Vintage Fashion Pop-Up, but she does have plans for a brick and mortar store. As she told Scene, "I saw this opportunity as a great way to generate awareness, receive feedback and increase revenue."

Currently, Sapanos is gearing up for the next event, happening this weekend Friday through Sunday.

"We'll have wine and chocolates from Sweet Designs Chocolatier. We'll be playing vintage records that the customers can pick out and vintage magazines that they can flip though," she says. "We'll also have a local non-vintage guest seller at each pop-up. Peripeti Candles will be our guest at the May pop-up."

Shop the Trader is located in Lakewood at 15613 Detroit Ave. For more information on this weekend's pop-up, visit their Facebook event here
