Sports betting in Ohio is just around the corner, but regulating and holding people accountable to their online promises is still up in the air. For instance, Aaron Goldhammer promised to eat actual horse shit after the Browns drafted Baker Mayfield and Browns Coach Hue Jackson is set to finally take a dive into Lake Erie next month after promising to do so months ago.
And now that the Cleveland Cavaliers are set to face the Golden State Warriors for the fourth time in a row, people are placing their bets online and possibly tweeting checks they can't cash.
It all started when the Browns' Damarious Randall made a multimillion-dollar promise to fans by tweeting out: "If the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2018 NBA finals I’ll buy everyone who retweet’s this a jersey..."
Given that Randall is set to earn just under $1.1 million next year, we sense a lot of Cavs fans are going to be disappointed when he can't fulfill his promise.
As it stands, Randall's promise is the most retweeted comment from any NFL player ever, with about 721,000 in retweets at time of publication. Randall seemingly made this promise under the guise there's no chance the Cavs will pull off a victory, as did many others on Twitter.
