
Police arrived to search a warrant on E. 125th St. last night. They were looking for Danny Withers, a 21-year-old suspect in the robbery of a Fifth Third Bank on September 21.
When the arrived at the home, Withers' grandmother let three officers into the house.
NewsNet5 reports that officers looked in a closet in the house. Withers jumped out "with his hand raised."
Detective Zola fired a shot at the man, hitting him in the chest and killing him.
Withers was unarmed.
The 11-year vet and the two other officers at the house have been put on administrative leave for three days.
