Update: Yep, it's official. Ohio will lose two congressional seats according to the Census Bureau.
What does this mean?
Ohio Republicans will be in charge of redistricting, and while nothing is close to being official, the PD notes that the Cleveland area will probably be one of the areas to lose a rep because the city dwindled in population.
The article speculates that Republicans could target either Dennis Kucinich or Betty Sutton's seat. Marcia Fudge's district is considered safe.
While population across the country has climbed to between 306 and 313 million people since 2000, Ohio's population took a dip in the last decade. One big enough to cost the Buckeye State two seats in the House of Representatives.
