— Former Indian Cliff Lee was thought to be heading either to the Yankees or the Rangers. Then the Phillies swooped in, signing Lee out from under New York. Two things: 1) We can all agree the man is a hero. 2) Eff the Yankees. (AP)
— The Pittsburgh airport will spend $300,00 on advertising to try and entice Clevelanders to fly out of Pittsburgh instead of Hopkins or Akron-Canton. With more on-time flights and cheaper fares, they think they have a case. They also seem to forget it's a two-hour drive to Pittsburgh. (Post-Gazette)

— Two twins are en route from Cincinnati to Cleveland in their attempt to run across the state of Ohio. The 22-year-olds, both graduates of Valley Forge, tried the same feat last year but had to stop when one of them got shin splints. This year's voyage is sure to be different, namely because it will likely end in frostbite or hypothermia instead. (Sun News)
