The bar — well known for its cozy, '70s-basement decor, board games, and those cheap, obscure beers your dad drank in college — serves a mean Hot Whiskey ($7). The contents are easy enough: hot water, Jameson, honey, and lemon spiked with a hint of clove. But ambiance is as much a part of the cure as the drink here: Hunkered down barside some minutes after Prosperity opens its doors at 4 p.m., the temperature outside dropping fast and the roads clogged with ice-timid traffic, a hit from this steaming cup makes the season all the more bearable.
