A couple of thoughts.
1) Let's not get too worked up over this. Ultimately, it's a harmless, semi-clever, fruitless statement. Whatever side of the NFL lockout debate you're on, we can all agree guys like Carlton Mitchell, who doesn't make much dough and whose career is likely not to change that fact, are hurt by the current labor impasse.
2) Still, Carlton Mitchell has a, ya know, home. Thoughtless bad taste? Eh, perhaps. A dumb symbolic gesture that doesn't hit home because the premise is so laughable? Yeah, probably.
