Greater Cleveland Film Commission to Host ‘Band of Brothers’ Fundraiser Event in November

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) has just announced that it’ll highlight the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers at its annual Behind the Camera fundraiser that takes place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Featuring a panel of favorite cast and crew members, the benefit will offer attendees the chance to hear special behind-the-scenes insights about the series.

GCFC President Ivan Schwarz, who served as one of the series’ producers, will moderate the discussion about the series, which won six Emmy awards and a Golden Globe.

“Behind the Camera gives our guests a look at the on-set experience that the cast and crew had during production, while still raising funds and awareness for GCFC’s mission — to drive economic development and jobs by building a film and television industry in Greater Cleveland,” says Schwarz in a press release announcing the event. “Our Behind the Camera event is always one of our most important fundraisers of the year, but this year holds special importance with the theme and date near Veterans Day — and personally, I’m also eager to share my experience filming the series with Cleveland.”

Stars from the show such as Neal McDonough (Lynn "Buck" Compton), James Madio (Frank Perconte), Matthew Leitch (Floyd M. “Tab” Talbert), Robin Laing (Edward J. “Babe” Heffron), Ross McCall (Joseph Liebgolt), Doug Spain (Antonio Garcia), Eion Bailey (David Kenyon Webster), Peter Youngblood Hills (Darrell C. “Shifty” Powers) and Rick Gomez (George Luz) will be on hand along with Casting Director Meg Liberman and writer Graham Yost.

While in town, the celebrities will also participate in a student event for local film students and a tour and meet-and-greet at the Cleveland VA Medical Center.

In addition, an exclusive behind-the-scenes workshop will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the GCFC office. Band of Brothers writer Graham Yost (Justified, The Americans) will discuss screenwriting and producing, and casting director Meg Liberman (Seinfeld, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) will discuss casting for film and television.
