For two and a half years, Tremont General Store (2418 Professor Ave., 216-288-7167) has been the place to go for local food products, home and garden equipment, pet and chicken food, and even plants, herbs and seed packets. In short, it was a bonafide general store.
All that comes to a close on October 31, when owner Kevin Kubovcik closes the doors for good.
“You can’t keep digging that hole,” Kubovcik says. “Retail isn’t really strong in Tremont unless you’re a bar or restaurant. It’s tough. It was a great experience for two and a half years but it just didn’t work out.”
Kubovcik says that items will be marked down in an attempt to move inventory.
