Video: Defendant Attacks a Judge and a Lawyer

June Carson was in court yesterday on charges of a simple trespassing misdemeanor. No problem? Right.

Well, when Mr. Carson was told he would need a court-appointed lawyer the next time he appeared before the judge, he responded, “I don’t think I’m going to do that."

Oh, and then he threw his backpack at the judge and took a swing at an innocent (at least in this case) lawyer who just happened to be within striking distance. And who came to the rescue when the fists were flying? Steve Loomis, police union prez, who was sitting two rows behind where the action started and tackled Carson to the ground before any more objects could be hurled. Hero.

Carson will likely be facing additional charges, including Making Steve Loomis Run Moderately Fast. Yes, that's a real thing.
