If it’s time to adjust your job search strategy, here is the good news, the bad news, and the neutral:
Come January, 11 percent of companies in the Cleveland/Elyria/Mentor area will hire more people, according to survey results reported in Crain’s Cleveland Business. Those jobs will probably be in manufacturing, transportation and utilities, financial services, professional business services, and at the casino in leisure and hospitality.
The downside is that if you’re in construction, working for the government, or in education and health services, 8 percent of your employers expect to downsize during the first quarter of 2012.
Anyone into durable manufacturing, IT, or wholesale and retail will neither find a job nor lose one.
