Celebrate the Holidays With Christmas Story Marathon, Not Your Family

You're going to be spending way too much time with your family over the next week, so you deserve a day to yourself.

And we can't think of a better way to spend that day than by camping in front of the TV to watch TBS' annual "24 Hours of A Christmas Story" marathon.

It all starts at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, so that means you'll actually have to miss most of Christmas day with your family. But since the 1983 holiday classic was shot and is set in Cleveland, it'll be almost like spending time with them, right?

We admit a dozen straight screenings of one movie can get a little boring — except for The Godfather, of course, which we could watch for three days straight, or as we like to call it, next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

So to make things a little more interesting, we have a couple of drinking games for you to test out this weekend.

The first is to take a shot or big sip of Christmas Ale or vodka-spiked eggnog every time Cleveland is referenced, shown, or alluded to.

Or you can down some of your favorite drink whenever a quotable line comes up in the movie. (Bonus sip for saying the line along with the TV.)

Either way, you'll be fucked up in no time.

Better still: Take a shot/sip/etc. during all Cleveland references and all quotable lines.

By the fourth airing, you won't really care if Ralphie gets that damn BB gun. —Michael Gallucci
