Just in case you needed another data point on the terminal idiocy of Joe the Plumber, the man and his limp noodle of a congressional campaign, we submit the following:
"Imagine being the child of a mixed-race marriage - especially in the turbulent 60’s and free-wheeling 70’s," his letter said. "And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist - you know it could not have been easy - and they were communists for crying out loud!"
Those lines are lifted from a letter The Plumber — given name Samuel Wurzelbacher — recently wrote as part of his campaign to unseat Marcy Kaptur in the upcoming house election. The text is called “I’m Blessed to be a Christian” (honestly Sam, you could have left us with a little suspense); it sounds like the letter was written with the best intentions, to remind all those terrified Ohio housewives that the president is in fact a Christian, and it’s not cool to say he isn’t.
