Get Lit for Liberation Fundraiser to Shed Light on Injustices at the Cuyahoga County Jail

A collaboration between the Cleveland arts community and local activists, Get Lit for Liberation, a fundraising event that takes place on Saturday, April 13, in Ingenuity Cleveland’s IngenuityLabs space at the Hamilton Collaborative, aims to “shed light” on the injustice and inhumanity in the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Sponsored by the Ohio Student Association, the fundraiser will feature live music and visual art.

Local acts Boxed Wine Mom, Apostle Jones, Key to the Mint, the Robin Blake Sound Experiment with Alexander Wright & the Collective, and Meg & the Magnetosphere will perform.

An art show featuring local art inspired by criminal justice reform will also be on display, and there will be live painters and more interactive artistic activities.

The event begins at 8 p.m., and admission is a $10 suggested donation that’ll go directly to support those impacted by the Cuyahoga County Jail. Cash and Paypal will both be accepted at the door. Beer and wine will be for sale at the cash-only bar.
