This weekend's shaping up to be a beauty. Don't let the usual errands, chores, or studies keep you from having a little al fresco fun. Here are three good bets:

Friday, August 24:
Roar Along the Shore: Last year, Danielle DeBoe — proprietress of Ohio City boutique Room Service and the recently closed Dredgers Union — booked the Goodtime III and stocked it with local bands for a two-hour cruise along the Cuyahoga River and the Lake Erie shore. Roar Along the Shore, as she dubbed it, was so successful — with more than 500 people buying tickets — that she’s doing it again tonight. This year she’s got Cobra Verde, the Stereo Workers Union, the Jack Fords, Glass Cities, Ragers, and LT: Mixtape Casanova on deck — two decks, actually, where bands will play simultaneously, with the top deck reserved for conversation and enjoying the scenery. Drinks and food will be available for purchase. You can get the $30 tickets at Room Service (2078 West 25th St.) until 6 p.m. tonight, and at the dock before departure from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. The ship boards at 8:30 and weighs anchor at 9 from the East Ninth Street Pier behind the Rock Hall.
