“This is the first major revision of the book in about five years,” Trattner reports. “If you think about all that has changed in and around the city in that time, then you have an idea of how much new content went into this rewrite.”
The 250-plus page full-color book is divided into sections entitled Sights, Restaurants, Nightlife, Arts & Culture, Recreation, Shops, and Hotels. Each section is full of detailed listings, naturally, but also top-ten lists, expanded callouts and deeper dives into topics such as “How Cleveland Landed the Rock Hall,” “The Polish Boy: a Cleveland Original” and “The Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run.”
“I know people largely know me as ‘the food guy for Scene,’” adds Trattner, “but the guidebook is so much more than just bar and restaurant listings. Although, when it comes to bar and restaurant listings, you know I’ve got those well covered.”

Trattner is also the co-author of five Michael Symon cookbooks, including “Playing with Fire,” “Carnivore,” and "5 in 5,” the last two of which landed on the New York Times Best-Seller list.
