What is it about pop punk shows that makes fans so excited? Last night at House of Blues, All Time Low had the sold out crowd cheering for everything: the band’s old work and its new work. Fans came obviously prepared and sang along word for word with the opening song “The Reckless and the Brave,” a tune off the band’s new album Don’t Panic, which was released just earlier this month. Surprisingly, though, the set wasn’t mostly about the new stuff and was filled more with proven favorites. Guitarist Jack Barakat told the crowd to “get ready for this old song” and “do this shit” as he introduced “Coffee Shop Soundtrack,” and he displayed the same enthusiasm for songs such as “Jasey Rae” and “Dear Maria.” Though the band is known for its ability to deliver upbeat dance anthems, it was also equally able to play slower songs such as “Remembering Sunday” and “Therapy.” Even though it's only the fourth stop on their “Rock Show at the End of the World Tour,” All Time Low played it as if it were the last, delivering a full 14 song set with a five song encore. Barakat even pointed out that it was “more songs than we’ve ever played in Cleveland.”
Hit the Lights opened strong with a set that closed with “Body Bag,” but the audience clearly loved the Summer Set, who delivered a terrific rendition of their hit “Punch-Drunk Love” in their respective opening set.
