TLNGO – The Light Never Goes Out – is the nom de plume of Jeremy Willets, the chief songwriter in mid-2000s alt-rock act the Rails. A former Scene contributing writer, Willets took a hiatus from music to start a family, but he’s recently started recording again and has just released two new songs, "Young + Restless" and "Gotta Get Up."
The latest entries in Willets' quest to release a new single every month, the catchy indie pop songs are available now on all major digital services.
“Both songs are written with the tried-and-true rules of pop music in mind, with TLNGO’s own unique twists,” reads a press release about the tunes. "'Young + Restless’ starts out with nervy synthesizers, saxophone, and a straight ahead beat before shifting in to a majestic chorus that recalls the freedom of youth. ‘Gotta Get Up’ ebbs and pulses with spacious ambition before a chorus that’s all about seizing every single day.”
