4 Things Going on This Morning

Good morning, Cleveland. For many of you, today is the last day of your short work week.

Here are 4 things going on this morning:

1.An Akron man lost his arm last night in a blast from a fireworks malfunction. The 65-year-old Wayne Jones was carrying the equivalent of a quarter stick of dynamite to his truck when the explosives went off. He is in critical condition. Seems like an awful time to say "I told you so," but the incident was just hours after we republished the video 3 Things that Could Go Terribly, Terribly Wrong with Homemade Fireworks.

2. You can get gas for as cheap as $2.50 today, if you hurry over to BJs Wholesale club. The gas station is offering its first 200 customers reduced price gas as a little pre-4th of July gift. The stations opened at 6:30 a.m. this morning. There are four locations in northeast Ohio: Akron, Avon, Middleburg Heights, and North Canton.

3.A Family Dollar store located on east 93rd has been robbed at gunpoint twice in the last week. Two masked individuals demanded money from the cash register and money from the safe, first on June 25 and again on June 29. Clerks were unable to open the store's safe both times. This morning, police released photos from one of the robberies.

4. Lakewood has been receiving national attention after a photo of the city's 4th of July park rules went viral. We posted the photo on Monday, but it has since been picked up by Reddit, Cheezburger.com, and Tosh.O, the Lakewood Citizen reported.
