A Band Called Death
(Drafthouse)
This documentary about the black Detroit punk band didn’t generate much revenue at the box office during its short theatrical release (that included a one-night stand in Cleveland) but it provides an in-depth look at a seminal act. The inclusion of so much of the band’s music is a plus as it serves to reintroduce us to the visceral, Stooges-like tunes.
Glen Campbell
See You There
(Surfdog Records)
The country icon revisits his biggest hits and provides beautifully re-recorded versions. Given his failing health, this might be his last album and if that's the case it’s quite the farewell.
