When a Butler County man pulled over to give a young couple a jump start on Friday evening, he thought he was just helping out two fellow motorists make their way home. What this good Samaritan didn't realize, however, was that he'd just walked into a trap set by the couple and one other accomplice.

Ohioan Damon Wyatt, 46, said he was driving in Butler County around 11 p.m. when he noticed a minivan on the side of the road and a man and woman positioned next to it asking for a jump, WLWT reports.

Wyatt pulled over, and had just opened the hood of their car when suddenly he was grabbed from behind by a third individual and choked around the neck. The first man then proceeded to punch Wyatt in the face until he lost consciousness.

When Wyatt awoke, the three individuals were gone and Wyatt's car was ransacked- oddly enough, nothing was stolen from his vehicle, not even his wallet.

He then drove to a nearby hospital for treatment and reported the incident to authorities. Now, area police are warning community members to contact police directly if they see stranded motorists, instead of offering their own services.

Investigations on the incident are still underway, and anyone with information is asked to contact Butler County police.
