Not into gambling away your hard-earned cash? Or banking on the slim chance of getting lucky and winning? Still haven’t been to the Horseshoe Casino? Well, then, you're missing out. If the casino’s non-stop action, drop-dead chandeliers and striking décor have yet to lure you in, consider the fact that the whole place is decked out in festive holiday cheer. Evoking memories of the Higbee’s of old, the place is gorgeous.

If none of the above is enough to entice you to pop in for a visit, then perhaps the food will be. The smells emanating from the casino’s small but mighty food court draw in all who pass by — and odds are, you'll leave a winner.

Sure, there's Michael Symon's B Spot burger stand, but many Clevelanders already have had the pleasure of devouring his tasty burgers at one of various outposts. But if you haven’t had the breakfast pizza at Rosie & Rocco’s, the fast-casual pizza, pasta and salad spot from local super-chef Rocco Whalen, then you’re missing out. Topped with fontina and mozzarella cheeses, spinach, Ohio-made sausage, chiles and a sunny-side-up egg, the salty-fatty slices of goodness are sure to take the edge off any loss — or cap off a happy win. The thin crust below is the perfect combination of light but chewy.

Rosie & Rocco’s also offers a short selection of pasta and salad dishes, and recently launched new menu items that include rosemary fried chicken and spaghetti and meatballs. And you needn't eat your meal in the company of one-armed bandits as R&R staffers will happily pack up your order to go.

Just be sure to not stray too far to the left while waiting for your order or you might be tempted to tack on a Reuben from Corky & Lenny’s, a mini version of the east-side institution. These corned beef sandwiches, however, are not miniature versions of anything, weighing in at the same hefty amount as the originals.

Casino eats, Cleveland-style — not a bad bet at all.
