Cleveland Stories Dinner Party
Cleveland Stories Dinner Party is a weekly series that pairs fine food with storytelling. Through it, the folks at Music Box Supper Club hope to raise awareness of the mission of the Western Reserve Historical Society's Cleveland History Center. The goal of the Cleveland Stories Dinner Party is to "bring to life some of the fun, interesting stories about Cleveland's past — from sports, to rock 'n' roll, to Millionaires' Row," as it's put in a press release. Admission is free, with no cover charge, although a prix fixe dinner, designed to complement the night's theme, is $20. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6, and the storytelling starts at 7.

Pumpkin Beer Fest
The tenth annual Pumpkin Beer Fest takes place today at Market Garden Brewery. The Ohio City establishment will serve its own Franklin Castle out of a giant pumpkin, and there will be a slew of guest pumpkin beers on tap as well. The festivities begin at 3 p.m. Admission is free, but the beer will cost you.

Disney's the Lion King
More than 90 million people around the world have reportedly experienced the visual artistry of The Lion King. Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the play presents a story "filled with hope and adventure set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals." The play also features the work of Tony Award-winning choreographer Garth Fagan and tunes written by Tony Award-winning artists Elton John and Tim Rice. Tonight's performance takes place at 7:30. GlamGore
GlamGore is Cleveland's newest monthly addition to LGBTQ nightlife. Each month, GlamGore features a variety of performance artists under one roof, ranging from beauty queens to drag monsters. One of few all-inclusive and all ages productions that incorporates themed performances to elevate artists and audiences alike, GlamGore features well-rounded drag entertainers of all shapes, sizes and styles from all over the country. The theme of tonight's event, which starts at 9 at the Grog Shop, is Dragoween. Stiffen Stones, Kilyo, Robyn DaCultyre, Glitter Tits and others are slated to perform. Tickets cost $12 in advance, $15 at the door. VIP tickets which include a photo opportunity, a meet-and-greet prior to the show and seating, cost $16.

Glass Animals — Dreamland Tour

An advertising executive-turned-standup comic, Chris Powell has had some major acting roles since he moved from Detroit to Los Angeles. He's started in Empire and performed on All Def Comedy. The Satellite Era/Hello Luna/Jacob Patrick Meyers
A 2019 car accident resulting in seven herniated and bulging discs in the neck and back plus a year and a half of physical therapy inspired “My Broken Body,” the new single from local indie rockers the Satellite Era. Uber producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Andrew McMahon, Fiona Apple) mixed the tune, which just came out today. Wild & Scenic Film Festival
The 14th annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival takes place at 6:30 p.m. today and at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. This year, the event is both in-person and virtual. All registrants (both in-person and virtual) will receive on-demand virtual access for five days after today’s premiere. Today only, raffle items and a cash bar will be offered beginning at 5:30 p.m. A production of the South Yuba River Citizens League, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a touring outreach event aimed at raising awareness of some of the biggest threats to human health and the health of the planet. These realities have come into sharp focus during the events of the recent past, giving the films even greater meaning in these uncertain times. The museum will show 12 selections from the South Yuba River Citizens League’s 2021 films, including pieces about farmers and urban beekeepers, Great Lakes conservationists, and a new generation of brave women rangers and scientists. Tom Adams & the Last Resort/Meganne Stepka
Local singer-songwriter Tom Adams began writing poetry shortly after moving to Cleveland in the 1990s. He subsequently co-founded the multi-media/rhythmic music/spoken word/performance art project Trenchcoat Manifesto with local artist and musician Dick Hearn, and that group released one album in 2004. After one final Trenchcoat show in 2011, Adams picked up the guitar and started writing songs in the vein of Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and Bob Dylan. In 2015, he formed Tom Adams & the Last Resort, a group he likens to "his own personal Plastic Ono Band." He and the band have just released their new album, Super Duper Doomsday. The album comes out this week, and the group plays a release party at 8 tonight at Jimmy’s Place Upstairs in Olmsted Falls. Local singer-songwriter Meganne Stepka will open the show.

Harvest Festival
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow, Hale Farm & Village hosts Harvest Festival, a family-friendly event offers seasonal experiences such as apple cider pressing and butter churning, and pumpkin painting. You can learn how the pioneers of the region prepared for the winter months ahead through food preservation demonstrations too. Other harvest activities can be seen at the Saltbox House herb garden (funded and maintained by the Bath Gamma Garden Club) where herbs will be harvested and preserved for use during the winter, and at First Settlement where cooking demonstrations will happen.” Admission to the Harvest Festival is $12 for adults (13 years and older), $6 for children (ages 3 to 12years) and free for children under 2 years old, active military and Western Reserve Historical Society members.

LoveMuffinPalooza 2021
LoveMuffinPalooza 2021, the annual music festival/fundraiser put on by Cleveland's Love Muffin Records, will take place from noon to 4:30 p.m. today at the Bop Stop. The event is a fundraiser for the Gathering Place, a locally based cancer support center that provides free programs and services for individuals and families coping with a cancer diagnosis. There will also be a raffle with over 35 prizes from local Cleveland businesses. Love Muffin label owner Adam Rich started the event back in 2008. He wanted to do his own version of Undercurrents, the popular yearly music showcase. After Rich's cousin died from cancer, Rich turned the event into a benefit concert. For the first time ever, the event will also be streamed live. You can view the stream on the Bop Stop’s YouTube page. Donations can also be made online at givebutter.com/LoveMuffin. Some of Cleveland's best bands play the Grog Shop tonight as part of the Melt Bar and Grilled 15th Anniversary Rock & Roll Circus. Punk vs. Metal!
Locally based Last Letter Project has organized this special show that takes place tonight at 7 in the Locker Room at Mahall's 20 Lanes in Lakewood. "Three metal bands will square off against two punk bands in a battle royale of sound to determine which genre is sonically superior," reads a press release about the show. "We guarantee that by the end of the night it won’t matter which you like more because every band will have melted your face off." Kill the Hippies and Lacerate represent the punk side of things, and Fistula, BloodTusk and Sarcoughagus hold down the metal side. Tickets at the door will cost $5 if you’re over 21, and $7 if you’re underage. Mahall’s has bowling lanes for rent downstairs, and you can reserve a lane ahead of time or day of show. Concessions are available upstairs. If you want to get into the show, make sure you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19. Mahall’s is requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test within 48 hours of the event for entry.

Soft Showing of New Documentary on Artist Dean Gillispie
To commemorate International Wrongful Conviction Day and the Ohio Innocence Project, Chagrin Arts and the City of Solon will present a soft showing of Barry Rowen’s new documentary on the life of artist and OIP client Dean Gillispie. The event will benefit Arts with a Purpose programming with Chagrin Arts and the Ohio Innocence Project. The presentation will be followed by a Meet the Producer and Artist reception. Mayor Edward Kraus will be in attendance, as will Rowen, Gillispie and other dignitaries. The event takes place at 7 p.m. today at Solon Center for the Arts; tickets for this event are $25, and seating is limited. Masks are strongly encouraged. Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes
Longtime friends with both Little Steven (a founding member of the Jukes) and Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny has released more than 30 albums in a career that stretches back to the early ‘70s. A Cleveland favorite, the guy has fond memories of the days when Kid Leo put him into the regular rotation on WMMS and always puts on an especially good show in Northeast Ohio. Sammy DeLeon, a locally based master timbales player has splayed all around the world during his lengthy career. Formerly the musical director of Impacto Nuevo, DeLeon has led his own group since 1996. Jackie Warren, a locally based singer and keyboardist, performs solo, leads her own trio and works as the featured soloist and arranger for Sammy DeLeon's Salsa and Latin-Jazz ensemble. Halloween Harvest Fest
Today, Holden Arboretum hosts a family-friendly fall harvest-themed event that comes complete with a trick-or-treat trail, wagon rides, crafts, and more. It's a rain or shine event. Tickets cost $5 for Members and $5 +general admission for Non-Members. It's also a reservation-only event. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and you may arrive any time within a half hour of your chosen time slot. Boney James
Sax man Boney James swings into town tonight as part of a tour in support of his latest album, last year's Solid. Solid is James' 17th album and the follow-up to his smash 2017 release Honestly. Reportedly one of the most successful instrumental artists of our time, James has accumulated four RIAA Gold records with career sales topping three million units.
