According to police, Vitte admitted to watching porn and masturbating with a boy five years ago. He told his wife, who was later interviewed by police. Vitte said he was teaching the boy about sex. Stierwalt has said that Vitte could use that educational angle as a possible defense, which is at least one reason why he is not pressing charges.
The Sandusky Register published an article that elaborates on Vitte's history of domestic violence - with interviews conducted by police with family members and others.
"I can't imagine a situation where that would be appropriate in our culture," clinical counselor Marlene Boas told the paper.
