Update: [VIDEO] Kent State Student Sends Love Song to Olympic Medal Winner

Update: The Kent State University student who sent a love song to Olympic medalist Nick Goepper as part of a belated Valentine's Day contest has won a date with the athlete.

The video submission of Tallmadge native Annie Rogers was selected from a pool of thousands of creative entries.

“She had an amazing video,” Goepper said in an interview published in the Akron Beacon Journal. “The lyrics were funny, witty and sweet. She had that little thing at the end and said some funny stuff. I was smiling a lot."

The athlete said he plans to call Rogers to organize their date, and that it will likely take place in either LA or New York City in the coming weeks.

Congrats, Annie!

(Originally published: 02/20/2014) Team USA skier Nick Goepper is looking for a belated Valentine's Day date, and as such he recently launched a social media contest seeking one lucky lady to join him for an evening after he returns from Sochi.

Kent State senior and Tallmadge native Annie Rogers hopes she's that lady.

Last week, she submitted a video in hopes of catching the medalist's eye and it appears she's done so. On Sunday, he tweeted: “The talent is pouring in. Annie Rogers with a @jason_mraz cover. This one is heartfelt.”
