Lorain County Sheriff's Department Confirms Body Found in Oberlin Landfill is Cory Barron

After the July 18 disappearance of Fremont resident Cory Barron during the Jason Aldean concert at Progressive Field, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office is confirming that his body turned up in a landfill in Oberlin on Tuesday. He was 22.

The news caps a long weekend of bleak conjecture, including the discovery of another body in Gordon Park that was later identified as a 27-year-old man.

Barron’s friends and family say that he was last seen sometime between 8 and 9 p.m. at the concert. He left the group at one point and never returned.

Currently, Cleveland police are at Progressive Field en masse, much as they have been throughout the past several days. There's no word yet on the cause of death.

Employees at the Lorain County Landfill say that Barron's body was discovered this morning. It was learned that his body arrived via trash containers that are delivered daily to the landfill from areas around Cleveland. The canister containing his body came in from Progressive Field.
