Cleveland Cinemas Announces $1 Weekend Family Films

When temperatures drop, inexpensive family activities are often elusive. But fear not, exploding-nesters: Cleveland Cinemas has announced its lineup for weekend family films through February and March.

Starting February 14, for a single American dollar per ticket — $1 — you can go see these titles at select Cleveland Cinemas locations. The Capitol Theatre's always a good bet.

“We’re excited to offer our $1 Family Films this winter,” said Ken Young, Cleveland Cinemas Director of Operations, in a company press release. “With tickets priced at just $1, parents can take advantage of this low-cost opportunity to take their children to the theatre to see these great family films.”

Included in the lineup is the Oscar-nominated animated film The Boxtrolls, and at least one much-loved sequel that busted the box-office when it premiered in 2006. Lookin' at you, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. (I can't, in good conscience, comment on Rio 2 because I haven't seen it. Apologies).

Here's what you and your kiddies can look forward to, with links to their Metacritic ratings for easy critical perusing:
