15-Year-Old Boy Killed in Eastside Drive-By Shooting Yesterday

L'Shawn Brooks, a 15-year-old Cleveland resident, was shot and killed yesterday near Lee and Harvard, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office. He was taken to MetroHealth with a gunshot wound in his torso. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are investigating the incident, which is believed to have been a drive-by shooting, and have not yet identified any suspects.

It's unclear how involved Brooks was in the shooting. Fox 8 is reporting that "witnesses reported possibly seeing him fire shots, according to the police department." Scene is awaiting confirmation and additional information.

There have been 20 gun-related homicides so far in 2015 in Cleveland, according to Sgt. Ali Pillow.
