Recently, Trip Advisor ranked the Top 25 Amusement Parks in the World, and Ohio's beloved Cedar Point was awarded the 14th spot, beating out attractions in Florida, California, and several international parks - which is cool and all, but we're wondering why we only got number 14?

We take pride in being the roller coaster capital of the world. Located in Sandusky, on the Lake Erie Peninsula, the park first opened in 1870, and is the second oldest amusement park in North America. With its first ever ride in 1892 being 25 ft. tall, going 10 mph to now luring in thrill seekers from around the globe by being home to one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world at 420 ft. tall, going 120 mph, Cedar Point has rightfully earned a top spot.

This summer, the park opened its newest ride: Rougarou, Cedar Point's only floorless ride with a dive of 147 ft., plunging at about 60 mph. And favorites like GateKeeper, Blue Streak, and Millennium Force are still around. Aside from dropping hundreds of feet in the air at an insane speed, there is plenty more to do: The site has beaches, kiddie rides for those less daring, hotels, a waterpark, and many dining options.

Places that ranked before the Point are parks in Brazil, Spain, Germany and Walt Disney World, which we can probably accept. If you haven’t already, make a day trip over to the park this summer at 1 Cedar Point Dr.
