Chef Jonathon Sawyer's rustic Italian fine dining experience, Trentina, was named one of the best new restaurants in the nation by the culinary experts at Bon Appetit magazine.

The annual list includes 50 nominees from all over the country, representing a wide range of specialties, styles and prices.

Trentina features Northern Italian-inspired dishes made with locally grown Ohio produce, along with a selection of Italian wines. The house-made pastas are also sold at the Cleveland Flea.

It's not Sawyer's first time being recognized by Bon Appetit. His Greenhouse Tavern was one of the final Hot 10 restaurants on the first list in 2009. Check back on August 18 when this year's Hot 10 is announced to see if he can make it to the top again.

Sawyer was also this year's winner of the James Beard award for Best Chef Great Lakes.

Thinking of making a reservation at Trentina? Bon Appetit recommends the 12-course tasting menu, and we'd be inclined to agree.
