FirstMerit Corp. Expected to Acquire Naming Rights for Cleveland Convention Center

FirstMerit Corp. would pay $400,000 annually to Cuyahoga County for the next 20 years in exchange for naming rights for the Cleveland Convention Center, according to legislation submitted by County Executive Armond Budish.

The deal awaits approval from County Council.

A new logo would be created as part of the transaction. The deal would also include the installation of FirstMerit ATMs inside the center and inside the Global Center for Health Innovation.

“Our collaboration with FirstMerit on the Convention Center is a great opportunity to highlight this spectacular building as a resource for the region and the nation; it is a state of the art facility in the heart of our city," Budish said in a statement released this morning.
