Former Brite Winter Co-Chair and Music Curator to Launch Summer Festival

Local promoter Thomas Fox helped turn Brite Winter Festival into the mammoth music festival that it’s become. Now, he’s turning his talents to AGUMBOOT Music Festival, a summer music festival slated to take place at an undisclosed location. Fox, the host of CreativeMornings Cleveland, promises the festival will be “a unique regional event, an outdoor indie-alternative music festival taking place on Cleveland’s freshwater coastline.” It will take place the weekend of July 15.

“The timing of the festival is the weekend prior to the RNC kickoff in downtown Cleveland,” says Fox in a press release. “Counter to the conventional mindset of avoiding conflicting programs this July, Agumboot Arts believes that this time is ideal for native Clevelanders to embrace art & culture with a nearby escape from the political conversations of the day.”

Entirely funded through a community outreach crowd funding campaign that ends on May 1, the festival will feature two to three stages and about a dozen artists. At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, a crowd funding campaign kicks off at the Euclid Tavern. Tickets to the event are $10 and will help to cover the festival's expenses. The Euclid Tavern event will feature some local bands, and Fox will present his vision of the festival.
