Ohio BMVs Will Take Credit Cards Starting Later This Week

You talked (or yelled and swore) and they listened: you can now pay your driver's license, vehicle registration renewals and other BMV fees using a credit card as of Friday at all 190 registrar offices. No longer will you get halfway to the BMV only to realize you don't know where your checkbook is. No longer will you get in line only to realize you forgot to stop at an ATM and what the hell how much does a tag cost these days?

It'll cost you of course, using a credit will generate its own fee of $1.25 or 1.95 percent of the transaction (whichever is more), but since rolling out the change at a few test locations recently the BMV says they've only had positive feedback from customers, which might be a first in the history of the department.
