Every other Friday, beginning tomorrow, July 1, and running until September 9, Scene will be celebrating the summer at the
Van Aken Beer Garden. The outdoor, summer-long, family-friendly celebration will be held in the parking lot of the Van Aken Center in Shaker Heights. Festivities include crafts for all ages, music, local restaurants and food truck fare, and beer, wine, and spirits. The party begins at 6 p.m. and runs through 10 p.m.
It's probably something you want to include in your Fourth of July weekend plans.
This week entertainment includes folk-rock band Oldboy; food trucks Sides to Go, Ninja City, and Boca Loca Burrito Factory; vendors Mitchells, Rising Star, Whiskey/Grade, and The Popcorn Shop; and a handful of Clevelanders’ favorite beers, wine and spirits. And, for the kids, Shaker Heights field hockey and a balloon and glitter tattoo artist will be entertaining.
Like the revolving door of food, drink, vendors, and entertainment, a portion of the proceeds will benefit a different nonprofit or local organization each week. Proceeds from the July 1 celebration will benefit Rotary International and Winslow Preservation Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the quality of life and architecture of Shaker’s Historical District. Support a cause in your community, and have fun doing it.
See you there.
