Dante's Inferno to Open in Flats East Bank Next Week

Dante's Inferno, the first in a trio of new spots slated to debut in the Flats East Bank in spaces vacated by shuttered Crop projects, will open a week from today on Tuesday, September 5.

Chef Dante Boccuzzi has turned the former Crop Sticks space into a quick-serve Italian eatery serving fresh, made-to-order pizzas. Tribe fans may already have gotten a taste of these pies at the Progressive Field location, which debuted last season. The Flats East Bank location will have a music themed layout and will have an outdoor pick-up window for late night orders, as well as delivery service.

“Our pizza concept was so well received during the exciting Indians season that we decided to make it accessible to the general public,” Boccuzzi told us back in May when the project was announced. “Being from Cleveland, I am so happy to be part of the revitalization and renewed energy of the Flats.”

Diners can expect a similar experience to the one at the ballpark with a slightly expanded menu and a kitchen capable of pumping out 500 pies a night. After a rocky stretch that saw a few of the initial East Bank restaurants close their doors, Inferno and others that should go online in the near future have brought a renewed sense of energy to the neighborhood.

“Things seemed tough at the time, but I always wanted to open up down here,” Boccuzzi told Cleveland.com. “I was just waiting to see how it all panned out.”
