Re: “A Quest for the Best Fried Chicken in Cleveland

V's is fantastic, I have them more than I care to admit. Mama Joyce's was good the one time I successfully got chicken there. They are always out of chicken, not sure what's going on there. Angie's is solid as well. If you like wings, check out Kim's. Stores on 222nd and Lakeshore Blvd. and around 149th and St. Clair.

Re: “Fun in a Box is Back, Baby!

This brings back memories. I used to live on Meadwobrook in CH. I'd go to Parnell's and stop at Mama's Boy after. The box would be empty by the time I walked home.

Is the D'Angelo's pizza sign still there?

Re: “Saucisson Announces Opening Day for Slavic Village Butcher Shop

I went Saturday and the place is really nice. Melissa and Penny seem really excited to be finally open and are as friendly as usual. I snagged some currywurst, bacon, chorizo, pork tenderloin, ground beef, maple sausages, duck rillettes, lamb rillettes, pork and corn soup, spicy pickles. I'll be back and couldn't be happier that they have a permanent spot with regular hours. The quality they provide is second to none.

Re: “Fresh and Meaty Burgers Tastefully Fill Void Between Fast Food and Sit-Down

They do make a tasty burger. I've gone several times already and usually get the king and fries, eating it across the street at Parnell's Pub while enjoying a pint of Guinness. At $8 for a king, fries, and drink it's the same price as a double combo at Wendy's and much, much better. They also make Five Guys look and taste like cat food.

Re: “The Barking Spider Tavern to Close After 30th Anniversary Celebration

This is a very sad day for Cleveland. The Spider is a great and very unique bar and live music venue. There is no other bar like it in Cleveland or anywhere else that I’ve travelled to. Martin was a fantastic person and has been missed, but Jenna has been doing a fantastic job. I have listened to great music and discussed everything from science to religion to politics with complete strangers there. I stopped in tonight and it was a bit sombre, but everyone was reminiscing about all their great memories. I will be back Sunday for one last time and will have a deep void inside me with the loss of this institution. The Spider had a fantastic 30 year run and Cleveland should very thankful.

Re: “The Barking Spider Tavern to Close After 30th Anniversary Celebration

@Rr, Case owns the building and the Spider leases it from them. Sadly, I expect a parking lot in that space within the next couple years.
