I arrived in Cleveland a few years ago. Despite my training and experience for years in NYC, passion for Cleveland, and individual performance style. Most Cleveland organizations wouldn't give me two looks to contribute as an artist. The two artists in the Cleveland market who gave me an opportunity were Nina Domingue and Terrence Spivey. Spivey, another re-transplant from NYC has uplifted Karamu Theater to it's historic form. Don't be insular Karamu and CLE. Don't drive out innovation and progress.
