I made my theatre debut in 2006 at Karamu in the Jelliffe theatre, "Dream On Monkey Mountain". I was in that production thanks to one person.Terrence Spivey. I had no acting experience, just a couple of acting classes. I was so nervous when I auditioned in front of Terrence. The monologue I chose was way over my head and I think Terrence knew that. He gave me directions and had me do it over several times.
I was so excited when I was cast. Terrence Spivey gave me an opportunity to act and the rest is history. I love performing at Karamu and under the direction of Terrence. He always made time whenever I needed to talk with him about anything. He really cares about his actors and is always ready to teach. Kudos to you Terrence for all you have done at Karamu!
