Pierre said "Hello my friend!" on my first visit 15 years ago and again every time since. Always a smile and a handshake and the most positive outlook on life in general. The food is always great and quickly became the default location when the office couldn't decide where to get lunch from. When we mentioned that we were having trouble with a client in the Middle East, Pierre quickly asked "What's the address? I'll be there in 5 minutes." He came to our office, picked up the phone and had the issue cleared up in two minutes and we got the sale. He would accept nothing but our gratitude for his help. We bought corned beef for 30 for our St Patrick's Day party every year which got rave reviews from our Irish family and friends. When we bought a restaurant and needed to now cook 300 pounds of corned beef, we again asked Pierre for guidance and he was again happy to help. You can buy a sandwich anywhere but there are few that can be this genuine of a good person on both sides of the counter.

Way to sorta fact check yourself out of a story. If there was no verifiable history, then you have creative license to make it up. Now our "Polish Boy Legend" is that some guy put some of the stuff on a sandwich once and maybe it was the Polish Boy. "Virgil Whitmore, who opened the original Whitmore's Bar-B-Q in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood back in the 1940s" should have been changed to Stewie Jablonski who made the sandwich in the family restaurant out of the only ingredients they had after returning from WWII with two purple hearts.
