A Classic Case

When: Thu., Aug. 6 2015
It’s difficult to keep up with a comic book’s history when it’s as old and as convoluted as the X-Men series’. The Ohio Center for the Book is here to help. Its “Trauma and Transformation” book club meets today to discuss the first book in the Astonishing X-Men’s most recent revival: Gifted. The graphic novel, written by superhero heavyweights Joss Whedon (director of the Avengers) and John Cassady (creator of Captain America), re-introduces classic X-Men characters like the previously killed-off Colossus. The biweekly club will meet at 4 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Cleveland Public Library to question the morality of the Astonishing X-Men and its surrounding characters.
