A Doc on Dock

When: Tue., Sept. 30 2014
On June 12, 1970, Dock Ellis reportedly threw a no-hitter for the Pittsburgh Pirates while tripping on LSD. Ellis, however, later admitted to having substance abuse issues and started to help others kick their habits. An outspoken advocate for civil rights, he’s remembered for more than just his achievements on the mound. With the use of archival footage and interviews, No No: A Dockumentary explores the late athlete’s life. The film screens tonight at 7 at the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
