A Spring Thing

When: Sun., Feb. 22 2015
Maslenitsa is Eastern European spring holiday — and given the number of Eastern European immigrants living in Northeast Ohio, it makes sense that we would celebrate the holiday here. A Maslenitsa Celebration takes place today from noon to 3:30 p.m. There will be Russian pancakes and crepes with Russian tea from the samovar. There will also be “a pancake and crepe cook-off and eating contest, networking opportunities with local Russian entrepreneurs, Russian limericks (chastushki), best Russian costume babushka competition, games for kids, Russian music, pictures with Maslenitsa doll and martyoshka nesting dolls.” Admission is free.
