A Terrific Tradition

When: Wed., July 2 2014
Tonight, the Cleveland Orchestra leaves Severance Hall to play its 25th annual free community concert in downtown Cleveland. Loras John Schissel, conductor of the Blossom Festival Band, will lead the Orchestra in a Public Square performance featuring Tchaikovsky’s “1812” Overture, a salute to the U.S. Armed Forces, and music by Gershwin and Sousa. Of course, it wouldn’t be a patriotic celebration without some fireworks! Your favorite food trucks will be there alongside massive video displays. The Star-Spangled Spectacular brought to you by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture begins at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free. (Gonzalez) clevelandorchestra.com.
